	Maternal antibodies (transferred from the mother’s milk to the puppy or kitten in the first week after birth) protect puppies and kittens but they eventually decline over several weeks leaving the youngster exposed. Every individual becomes exposed at slightly different ages, making multiple injections necessary. First vaccination usually between 8-10 weeks of age Second vaccination usually at 12 weeks of age
